Stoke loan Liverpool midfielder

Liverpoold midfielder Salif Diao has joined Stoke City on a three-month loan. The Senegalese player didn't feature in any of Liverpool's game this season and decided to join a lower league team to gain minutes. Stoke manager Tony Pulis said: "We've been monitoring Salif for a while now and have had very good reports about the kid.

"He's played 40 games in his first season at Liverpool, he's still only 29 and he's desperate to play football."

The 29-year old mifdielder joined Liverpool four years ago in a £3.5m transfer from French side Sedan. During his four year spell at Anfield he was loaned out to Birmingham and Portsmouth.
