Diarra might leave Chelsea

Chelsea youngster Lassana Diarra has dropped a hint that he might look to leave during January's transfer window. The France U-21 international is not part of José Mourinho's first team plans at the moment. The midfielder joined the Premiership champions in 2005 from Le Havre and is being tipped to replace Chelsea's current holding midfielder Claude Makelele.

Apart from Makelele, Chelsea already have Michael Essien and new boy John Obi Mikel for the holding role.

After making only four appearances, the France Under-21 international appears to be growing a little frustrated with a lack of first team action.

"I'll see how things are in January," he told The Sun.

"If I have to leave, I won't have lost anything."

Juventus are known admirers of the 21-year-old, who was Chelsea's Young Player of the Year in his first season at the club.
