It's make or break for Wrexham's season as the road to the play-offs is fully under way, anything other than 3 points will be seen as a disappointment from tomorrows game at the Racecourse against Grimsby.

Denis Smith's side have just 12 games left after tomorrow's home game against struggling Grimsby Town – and there can be no more slip-ups.
Wrexham have gone from 5th to 11th in their last six games and manager Denis Smith today put that into sharp focus.

He said to the Evening Leader: “We’ve now got 13 games left so we’re getting to the stage of the season when we simply can’t afford to slip further adrift of where we need to be.
“I want to be within striking distance of the play-off pack as we go into the last 10 games. We’ve got to be in there to have a shout of making the play-offs – and I still believe we can do it.

“We’ll be going all-out for a win tomorrow, not that we don’t do that all the time. But as games get fewer and fewer, we have to get back to winning ways and I just hope our fans turn up tomorrow to get behind the side. We need all the help we can muster.”
 

Skipper Darren Ferguson returns back after a one-match ban and reckons eight wins will get Wrexham into the play-offs.

Smith said: “Let’s get eight wins, then. I think we are capable of doing better than that. I would like to bring someone in to freshen-up the side but that is not possible so I’ve got to use the squad of players I’ve got.“That means with suspensions and injuries again hitting selection tomorrow it gives some of the younger players a chance to shine.”
 

Smith has no other option but to make changes from the side held to a disappointing 1-1 home draw by Rushden and Diamonds last Saturday.
Centre-back Brian Carey begins a two-match ban tomorrow after his 10th caution of the season.
 

Defender Steve Roberts’ swollen face is testimony to the painful abscess he has under a tooth and he is doubtful – as is left wing-back, Paul Edwards. He has a hamstring injury and is likely to be replaced by Shaun Holmes.
 

Big centre half Dennis Lawrence, who was sent off for a professional foul against Barnsley, is also available to return to defence and teenager Craig Morgan is also likely to play along with Shaun Pejic.
Matty Crowell also seems likely to keep his place in midfield alongside Ferguson and Jim Whitley.

Smith said: “I thought Matty did okay against Rushden and he’ll probably stay in the side. We’ve got Darren to come back and obviously we miss him because he’s such a good and influential player.”
Chris Armstrong and Chris Llewellyn will again spearhead the attack. “We could really now do with getting a few goals,” said Smith. “You would think with the four strikers we’ve got at the club that we really have got the players capable of getting those goals. But they haven’t gone in with the frequency you need to get out of this division. That’s why the countdown now is so important. We need to score more. End of story.”
 

There was improved news on Lee Jones, as he trained fully this morning and is in the squad to face the Mariners.

“I came off at half time on Wednesday night, when I felt the hamstring tightening,” said the former Liverpool striker. “But a couple of days treatment has seen it ease up and there was no problem this morning, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
