"I don't think they'll fancy coming down to our place," said McKenna ahead of Tuesday's quarter-final tie.

"It would've been a lot more difficult for us going up to Wrexham. Our pitch will be a bit different for them and they won't like the surroundings.

"So hopefully that will be an advantage for us.'' said Ken McKenna to BBC Wales.

Wrexham have a proud record in the competition having emerged as winners four times out of the six times the competition has been run.

But manager Denis Smith knows his side, who have moved up to fifth in Division Two, face a stern test against a side who has only lost once in the league this season.

"I know a reasonable amount about them," said Smith. "I know they're the best team in the Welsh Premier.

"They're full-time and it'll be a hard task for us. But it's up to us to approach it in the right manner.

"I enjoyed winning the competition last season and I'd like to do it again."

Smith has decided to rest striker Chris Armstrong, who recently returned from injury to score in Wrexham's last two games.

Jim Whitley is out with a hamstring problem and Smith could leave experienced trio Andy Dibble, Brian Carey and Darren Ferguson on the bench.

With Bournemouth away on Saturday in mind, this will be an ideal chance for some of the fringe players at Wrexham to show what they have to offer as Denis Smith will have a mixture of experience and youth, with one eye ahead to the long trip to Bournemouth.
