Wimbledon have withdrawn their interest in Scottish international Robbie Winters after a short trial period. The Dons took Winters on trial with the possibility of a contract. But having failed to impress in pre-season games against Barnet and Southed, boss Stuart Murdoch has decided not to continue with his interest in Winters.

Winters now faces a race against time to find a new club having already been rejected by Stoke City earlier this summer.

Having rejected a new contract at Aberdeen, after his previous deal expired, the 28-year-old may be forced to return, with cap-in-hand, to Pittodrie and accept their previous offer.
