Dennis Wise is likely to appeal against his sacking from Leicester City according to deputy PFA chief executive Mark McGuire. Wise was sacked on Friday following the incident that left Callum Davidson with a fractured cheekbone whilst the club was on a pre-season tour of Finland.
Speaking to Radio Five Live, McGuire admitted he would expect Wise to appeal against the sacking. "I think it's likely he will be appealing against the decision of the club.
"I think he was probably not expecting a decision of this severity.
"It is the club's prerogative to terminate a contract.
"It surprises me a little bit because it is unusual for an incident between two players to result in a sanction such as this."
