Nottingham Forest are set to sign Scottish midfielder Eion Jess. The club has also handed a trial to Marcus Hall. The former Aberdeen and Coventry man left Bradford at the end of last season as part of their wage-cutting plan.

Since then Jess had been linked with moves back to Scotland with Dundee United and Kilmarnock leading the pack.

It is Forest though who have leapt to the front of the line to sign Jess with the club in talks with him as revealed by Bradfords managing director Shaun Harvey to the clubs website. "He is currently in negotiations with Forest.

"He will be eligible to leave on a free transfer and we will have to come to some agreement with the player."

Forest have also handed a trial to Marcus Hall after the Coventry defender failed to impress during a trial at West Brom.
