According to reports in the Sunday tabloids Wise and Davidson began to argue in a nightclub, Wise then attacked Davidson leaving him with a double fracture of the cheekbone.

Foxes fans already unhappy with Wise after several poor performances last season are calling for the sacking of the player.

Leicester boss Micky Adams spoke to the clubs website. "Callum has a double fracture of the cheekbone.

"The injury will be assessed again on Monday and at the moment it is too early to say how long it is going to keep him sidelined".

Adams also confirmed that Wise is suspended while the club conducts an investigation.
