Rumours have been circulating that Lee Hughes is set for a cut-price move back to West Brom. Coventry bought Hughes for £5million, to be paid in instalments, last summer as they looked to return to the Premiership. Hughes, however has not had a happy time at Highfield Road even finding himself playing as right winger at times.
Coventry are in deep financial trouble and the next instalment of £1.5million is due. It is not known if The Sky Blues have the money to pay the fee after the club could not afford £50,000 for Motherwell defender Eric Deloumeaux.
West Brom boss Gary Megson has admitted he would like to re-sign Hughes and The Baggies have been invited by Coventry to make an offer. If Coventry can't afford the instalment they will have little choice but to let Hughes go in the cheap to his former club or face actions from the Football League.
