Brighton and Hove Albion have given a trial to Grimsby's out of contract striker Bradley Allen. The 30-year-old striker was hoping to secure a new deal at Blundell Park but that seems not to be the case now. Allen has already rejected an offer from Bristol Rovers and a trial from Oxford United.

With no deal seemingly on the table of the ex-QPR and Charlton man, Allen has decided to look elsewhere.

Allen signed for Grimsby on a free transfer in the summer of 1999 and became a fans favourite yet struggled to establish a starting place. During his spell with the club Allen has struggled with injuries but found his best form at end of last season forming a blistering partnership with Michael Boulding.

Boulding has already left for Aston Villa and Grimsby look set to start the new season without the strike-force that fired them to 1st Division safety last year.
