Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison has admitted that he would be interested in a move to Premiership Birmingham to link up with former boss Steve Bruce. The Irish international striker has long been a target of Bruce's and it was only this week that Palace chairman Simon Jordan said the club would not sell Morrison. However with the player now seemingly prepared to move the club may decide they have no choice.

Speaking to the Birmingham Evening Mail, Morrison hinted that the deal was almost done as well as telling of his ambitions and respect for Steve Bruce. "I do want to play in the Premiership," he said. "It'll be hard to leave Palace, but it's looking increasingly likely I'll have to make a decision soon.

"If the two clubs agree a fee, I'll talk to Birmingham. Then if I agree personal terms I'll sign. I think the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee.

"Steve Bruce is one of the best managers I've worked with and I feel I played well under him."

It is thought that Palace will push for a £5million deal including an exchange of either Tommy Mooney or Andy Johnson.
