Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan is not going to sell Clinton Morrison despite strong interest from Premiership clubs. Morrison had a very good season last year and attracted several Premiership scouts and also broke into the Republic of Ireland World Cup squad.

It was feared that Palace would not be able to hold onto the young striker with the collapse of ITV Digital but Jordan will not consider selling his star striker, speaking to the clubs official site he said "We are better able than most to cope with the current financial climate and I expect Trevor to bring players in.

"Clinton is halfway through a contract he signed 18 months ago and if I wanted to sell him it would have to be for the right price.

"I'm not willing to speculate what that price might be, but I turned down an offer of £5m from Birmingham."
