Portsmouth have signed defender Hayden Hoxe from West Ham. The fee is believed to be around £500,000. The Aussie was signed by Pompy boss Harry Redknapp when he was manager of West Ham after a long dragged work-permit saga.

Since Redkanpp left Upton Park Foxe has struggled to break into the West Ham first team as West Ham reverted to 4-4-2 with Christian Daily and Thomas Repka dominating the 2 central defence positions.

Foxe has agreed to join the South coast club and should put pen to paper in the next 24 hours.

Redkanpp could not hide his delight when speaking to the clubs official site

"I'm extremely pleased to bring Hayden to Portsmouth. He's a great player, big, strong, good in the air - he'll do a great job for us."
