Kevin Muscat has joined Rangers on a free transfer from Wolves ending months of speculation. The Australian international defender had been linked with Rangers ever since Alex McLeish took over at the Ibrox club.

McLeish admitted the news but most knew that Wolves defender was heading to Glasgow. "Kevin Muscat signed a few weeks ago. He will bring experience and is a solid pro".

Whilst playing for Wolves, Muscat earned a reputation as a dirty player and was often the target of rival fans taunts.

In other news, Wolves winger, Mark Kennedy has been forced to pull out of the Republic of Irelands World Cup squad following a groin injury sustained in Niall Quinn's benefit match between Sunderland and the Republic.
