Oakes has failed to cement a first team place for Leicester and this news today will shock him greatly , he was signed back in 1997 and started off like a house on fire ,but in recent years his form has tailed of and due to finanicial circumstances for clubs he has been sacrificed.

Adams speaking to the clubs official site said "I know people might be disappointed because Stef has been here a long time.

"He has been a first-class professional but he hasn't been getting into the team - it's as simple as that."

"He has been here so long now that he needs regular first-team football and I can't guarantee him that at this club." Adams added
