Wood 17 , is in his second year from the Academy and has impressed boss Chris Turner enough for him to get the go ahead to sign up Woods for two years.

A club spokesman for Sheffield Wednesday said "Richard's likely to sign his first professional contract by the end of the week. He's currently in his second year with the academy and has been offered a two-year deal."
