Reading bad boy Jon Mackie has been hit by a further five match suspension due to those racist remarks towards Carl Asaba. Jon Mackie has been hit by a further five match ban due to racial remarks he said towards Sheff Utd striker Carl Asaba.

He will serve firstly a three match ban and a further five games due to be served before the end of the 2003-04 season.

A spokesman for the FA on there website said "He will serve a three-match ban starting on March 17 with another five-match ban suspended until the end of the 2003-04 season."

"In the event of a similar incident before that date, this additional suspension would be activated with immediate effect."

The defender was made to apoligse in public for his outbursts which must have embarrassed him no end , and got fined £1,500 with another of the same amount on hold.

Mackie also volunterly gave two weeks wages to Kick Racism out of Football campaign , hopefully this will be the last we hear of this incident and Jon Mackie can serve his suspension and get on with his life in football.
