Reading boss Alan Pardew and striker Jamie Cureton have laughed off reported rumours that the pair have had a bust up. Reading boss Alan Pardew and striker Jamie Cureton have both denied rumours that during contract talks.

A rumour which is reported as being on a internet dicussion board has been quashed by both parties , the incident which is being reported started as Cureton an unused sub in Reading's 5-2 win at Burnley was unhappy with his current role at the club.

Alan Pardew speaking on the Royals official website said "Jamie has been a model professional throughout his time at the club. We have a good relationship and understand each other. People look for something that's not there. He's not involved at the moment purely on a footballing basis, no more, no less."

"We have discussed his contract and because he is on a free transfer at the end of the season it puts him in a good financial position. It is complicated but myself and Jamie are trying to deal with it as intelligently as possible." Pardew added
