Wolves limped into the FA Cup Quarter Final draw , Rochdale gave the Molineux men a great examination but were stung with two goals in the last ten minutes.

Rochdale's FA Cup dream came to an end when they went down bravely to Wolves at Molineux.

The Third Division side were level 11 minutes from time, but late goals from Kenny Miller and Adam Proudlock put Wolves into the last eight.

George Ndah had put Wolves ahead in the first half to carry on his run of scoring in every round so far as they were easily on top in the first half and they could have had more. Rochdale to their credit, threatened to pull off a shock when they grabbed an equaliser early in the second half, but Miller's goal put Wolves back in front, and knocked the wind out of their lower league opponents.

Wolves looked threatening with the ball, with Mark Kennedy and Naylor working well on the left.

Kennedy was at the centre of most of Wolves' play and he shot over after six minutes. Rochdale struggled to stay with their First Division opponents, but they showed signs of threatening when David Flitcroft split the defence - but Scott Warner's first touch let him down as the ball ran to keeper Murray.

Rochdale managed to frustrate the home side by being reduced to long-range efforts, with Paul Ince twice well off-target before Ndah fired straight at Gilks, but they got the breakthrough they deserved with a scrambled effort from Ndah, which was deflected in off  Lee McEvilly which then escaped the reach of Gilks.

After half time, Rochdale played with more belief and came at Wolves and a few minutes after the break they was rewarded  when they grabbed an equaliser, as a Paul Simpson shot lacked power, but it took a wicked deflection off Gavin Melaugh that sent it past Wolves keeper Matt Murray into the bottom left hand corner.

Rochdale got confidence from the goal and began to stroke the ball around without being much of a threat to Murray in the Wolves goal.

Wolves came back into the game a bit more when Alex Rae was brought on and the hammer blow came when Gilks could only parry a shot from Lee Naylor and Miller pounced to fire home from the rebound, despite looking in an offside position.

Proudlock then came off the bench to score with almost the last kick of the game to secure the win for the Molineux side.
