Watford striker Marcus Gayle is confident that the Hornets can still meet the players wages. Watford star Marcus Gayle has backed the club to pay players on time despite former manager Gianluca Vialli demanding an estimated £2.5m for the remainder of his contract having being sacked last summer.

With the club already in financial turmoil the club may find it very difficult to pay players should Vialli be successful in his claim. However, Gayle thinks the club will back the players providing results are good on the field:

Gayle said "We just take care of things out on the grass.

Gayle added "If we're winning games, that will bring rewards, and that's what we have to concentrate on."
