Gillingham have rewarded midfielder Mark Saunders with a new deal until 2004/05. Mark Saunders has been rewarded with a fresh deal to keep him at the Priestfield for another two years.

The midfielder has signed an extension to his current contract , he joined Gills from Plymouth in 1995 and has been an integral part of lifting Gills from Second Division minnows to First Division stalwarts.

Gills chairman Paul Scally said on his clubs official site "This is fantastic news for everybody connected to Gillingham Football Club."

"In his time at Priestfield he has played a major part in helping us to realise our goal of Division One football." Scally also added
