Arsenal's on loan striker Graham Barrett has slammed claims from Preston he wanted more wages for a move. Graham Barrett has slammed rumours that he wanted over the top wages for a permanent move to Preston from Arsenal.

Speaking to the Brighton Argus Barrett said "The demands were nowhere near excessive. They were very fair for what I've achieved so far, and what I potentially will achieve in the future.

"I was really impressed with them, but they have stated the deal is off.

"I wouldn't even call them demands - there was just maybe a breakdown in communications," he also added

Barrett's proposed move to Deepdale which collapsed will please Brighton fans has he has been playing excellently with his new strike partner Bobby Zamora.
