Derby have had a un-named Premier League side join the hunt for hitman striker Malcolm Christie. Just when Middlesborough thought they had there man , an un-named Premier League side have joined the race for the strikers signature.

The mystery club have put a late deal to Derby and they are waiting for further response , West Brom and Spurs are keen on bolstering there strike force and one of them could be the club in question.

Spurs have been after Michael Ricketts of late and with Rebrov about to be on his way , it could pave the way for them to bid for Christie , West Brom have already looked at Christie and with Jason Roberts , Lee Hughes and Scott Dobie not firing on all cylinders so far they could find Christie the answer to there problems.

A spokesman for Derby County said "We are still holding talks with Middlesbrough about the proposals they have put on the table regarding Malcolm Christie.

"But we have now received a serious inquiry from elsewhere which we are also looking at."
