Burnley have suffered a damaging blow after hearing that club captain Steve Davis will be out of action for up to 2 months.Inspirational skipper Davis,34,had scored both his sides goals during their 6-2 loss at Rotherham at the weekend.
Davis has sustained an injury to his knee, the full extent of which is as yet unknown until he undergoes a scan on Friday. To prevent any more damage Davis has been forced to wear a brace on the troublesome knee which is expected to stay on for a possible 4 to 6 week period.
The inspirational captain has already suffered terrible luck this season after managing only 13 starts due to a number of injury setbacks.Speaking to the official Burnley FC website he said that he is "very disappointed and gutted to be missing the Christmas period, the third-round of the FA Cup and all the games after that."
Burnley have had a fairly inconsistent season to date, summed up perfectly by their 6-2 loss on Saturday which leaves them in 13th place in Division One.
