Steve Stone is hoping Villa give the go ahead for him to stay at Fratton Park for another month. Villa manager Graham Taylor has given indication that he will extend Steve Stone's spell at Pompey to another month.

Stone's loan spell ends next week and he is hoping to carry on first team football at Fratton Park , Stone is currently injured and he missed Saturdays game against Stoke but should be fit if the loan spell is extended.

Speaking to the Villa website Taylor added "The thing with Steve, like everybody else in this financial climate, is that there are a number of players who can't get their careers going.

"So when players do get an opportunity, we'd like to help them. It's as simple as that." Taylor also added
