Derby today rejected a £2 Million deal from an unnamed Premier League club. Derbys Chief Executive Keith Loring confirmed that a mystery Premier League club had approached Derby with a bid for the Estonian international but had turned the bid down flatly.

Loring speaking to Derbys official website said "It is common knowledge that we are planning to sell players as part of our financial reconstruction, but that does not mean we cannot be strong when an offer does not meet our valuation of a player,"

He also added "I am not willing to name the Premiership club that came in for Poom, but I hope Derby's decision puts out a clear message to buying clubs that, thanks to the support of our bankers, we don't have to take the first bid that comes our way."
