Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis has backed manager Mark McGhee despite the clubs poor start to the season. The Lions were the suprise package of last season and managed to reach the play-offs semi-finals before a last minute Birmingham winner sent them crashing out.
This season has been a different story with Millwall in the relegation battle. McGhee has been boosted by a statment that Paphitis on the clubs website. "I haven't given Mark a vote of confidence for the simple reason that it almost inevitably precedes a sacking.
"The truth of the matter is that sacking Mark has never entered my head. He's done a terrific job since I came here.
"Mark is working tirelessly to improve the situation and he is the man who will sort it out, no question."
