Wimbledon had agreed a fee with the Baggies last week but Cooper looks set to snub the Baggies for Dave Jones men. Cooper has entered talks with Wolves and is expected to sign before Thursday transfer deadline. Wolves promtotion charge has stuttured in recent weeks and they are heavily chased for the 2nd automatic spot by......West Brom. Wolves are also set to take Leicester defender Jacob Laursen on loan till the end of the season.

The dissapointment for Baggies boss, Gary Megson, will be softened by the loan signing of Trevor Benjamin from Leicester. Megson will Benjamin as an ideal replacement for the injured Jason Roberts. This will be Benjamin's THIRD division loan following previous spells at Crystal Palace and Norwich.

Barnsley look set to take Birmingham winger, John McCarthy on loan till the end of the season. Tykes boss Steve Parkin has also let Erik Tinkler leave the club after making clear his future lied elsewhere.

They may well be down already but Stockport's preperations for next season are well underway. County boss, Carlton Palmer, has brought Barnet defender Mark Arber to Edgley Park. No transfer fee has been disclosed but Arber has agreed terms.

Sheffield Wednesday have failed in their attempts to loan Charlton youngster Kevin Lisbie till the end of the season. Lisbie is not in first team plans at The Valley but Charlton decided against loaning him out. The former Manchester United defender has had a nightmare start to like in Italy after his ban for taking a banned substance. The Rome club are in financial difficulties but Stam's fellow defender Alessandro Nesta is rumoured to leave, ironicaly to Manchester United, thus chances of Stam leaving are slim.
