West Brom are to make another late swoop for Ipswich Town's Herman Hreidarsson. The Baggies looked set to sign Hreidarsson earlier this month but the Icelandic international refused the move.

Now the Premiership new boys are about to make another move before tomorrow's transfer deadline.

West Brom boss Gary Megson has already bought Lee Hughes and Jason Koumas in an attempt to add more attacking options. The move for Hreidarsson comes after Arsenal put five past Megson's men in mid-week.

Speaking to the official West Brom site, Megson hinted the deal is close. "It is not a done deal, but it is possible that it could be completed by the end of the day."

Meanwhile Ipswich have sold striker Marcus Stewart to Premiership Sunderland.
