Marehay 277-1 drew with Elvaston 151-7

Marehay were in the driving seat for most of this match, but they couldn't quite finish it off. Their batsmen were merciless in their treatment of the Elvaston bowlers and they allowed them only one wicket, that of Andy Walters who had made 75. Brian Caulton went on to make 91 not out, but the fireworks came from Arif Mehmood who slammed 90 not out off 56 balls, including eight sixes and six fours. Elvaston were stunned by this performance and struggled for the draw, but Simon Thompson stood firm and was still there at the end on 64 not out. John Longden took 3-28 for Marehay.

Spondon 151-4 beat Shipley Hall 149-9 by 6 wickets

Batting first Shipley never settled into a rhythm, and Gary Hickinbotham (33) was the only player to make an impression. Dean Vickers took 3-22 for Spondon and when they went in to bat Peter Davies got quickly into his stride with a powerful knock of 89 not out. With support from David Tainton (29) they reached their target with plenty to spare.

Morton 211-5 beat Selston Town 144 by 67 runs

There was some good batting from Morton, led by Geoff Deane with 71 and Adrian Elks with 54 and to cap it all there was a lively knock from John Aspinall who crashed 32 not out from 18 balls. Gary Staples remained steady for Selston in taking 3-48, and then went on to score 37. There was good support from Gary Forbes, but James Miller had the last word, taking 6-41, all clean bowled.

Nutbrook 176-9 lost to Lullington Park 177-9

As the score suggests there was nothing between these two sides. The winning run came for Lullington with just two balls to go and the last pair at the wicket. Richard Cutts (54) and Tom Bentley (37) were the top scorers for Nutbrook, whilst John Shales (5-65) performed well for Lullington, who got off to a good start with 68 from Andrew Goodwin, backed by 32 from Steve Gough. Richard Cutts completed a good performance in taking 5-55, with good support from David Hack who took 3-28. This was a much improved effort by Nutbrook.

Staveley Welfare 145 lost to Belper Meadows 146-8 by 2 wickets

Batting first Staveley relied heavily on the batting of Peter Camm (52) and John Douglas (40), and for Belper Dean Lovatt took 4-30. Dave Halliday dominated the Belper reply and was still there at the end on 82 not out. John Bullimore almost pulled it off for Staveley in taking 4-44.

West Hallam 268-5 beat Stainsby Hall 65 by 203 runs

This was a severe drubbing for Stainsby whose performances this season have been inconsistent. West Hallam's huge score was compiled in 45 overs, with skipper Campbell Ogilvie leading the way with 147, backed by James Chapman (42) and Andy Bowley (39). For Stainsby Andy Barlow took 3-66. Stainsby's reply floundered against the bowling of Peter Hort (4-21) and Steve Attenborough (3-25).

Denby 2nds 279-5 drew with Aston on Trent 207-9

This huge Denby score included 72 from Trevor Sparham, 67 from Tom Smith and 41 from Phil Glenn. It didn't frighten Aston who seemed to be coasting it at 180-3, but when Syed Faisal was out for 95 and Shakeel Aslam for 67 the wickets began to tumble. The damage was done by Ian Burgoyne (3-47), Gary Cresswell (3-31) and Anil Bria (3-29). In the end Aston were glad to hang on for the draw.

Duffield 240-7 beat Brailsford 146 by 94 runs

This was a good day for Duffield's batsmen, with Chris Elliott contributing 89, Chris Mills 47 and Balrage Johal 31. For Brailsford James Dakin and Steve Briggs both took 3-52, and Dakin was their top scorer with 37. Best bowling for Duffield was by Elliott (4-27) and Hugh Nichils (4-22).

Little Eaton 141 lost to Sandiacre Town 2nds 224-2 by 83 runs

Ian Hopkins was again prominent in the Sandiacre innings, carrying his bat for 113 not out, and Steve Brown hurried the score along in making 60. Gary Clowes showed some resistance for Little Eaton in masking 45, but they were way behind their target, with Sandiacre's Mike Ruhrmund taking 4-13.

Mickleover 97 lost to Alfreton 100-0 by 10 wickets

This was a comprehensive defeat for Mickleover who came out of the game with no points. Ian Bowler took 5-39 for Alfreton, before Matt Linacre (60) and Andy Gwatkin (30) polished off the runs without losing a wicket.

Ockbrook 2nds 189 lost to Rolleston 193-7 by 3 wickets

This was a good score by Ockbrook, with Paul Darlington (83) leading the way, and with support from Russell Saxton (38).Warren Cowell took 3-59 for Rolleston and Paul Allen was the main contributor in their reply which was very much a team effort. For Ockbrook Ashleigh Gough took 3-36.

Ticknall 190-4 beat Allestree by 6 wickets.

It was to Ticknall's advantage that they batted second on a good pitch. Allestree performed competently with Matt Sirrell making 47, Danny Walton 37 and Paul Lynne 70 not out.. John Coxon made 40 for Ticknall, but there was still a lot to do when the 4th wicket fell. Then Ryan Cowley and Stuart Renshaw got together and remained undefeated while they coasted home Cowley was 63 not out and Renshaw 46 not out.
