Sandiacre Town 110-4 beat Wirksworth 108 by 6 wickets

Played on Sunday, the match between Sandiacre Town and Wirksworth, which had been re-arranged following the abandonment of the game started on Saturday August 24th when Ken Wilson, the Wirksworth scorer had collapsed with a heart attack.

Wirksworth batted first and struggled from the start. Their top scorer was Tariq Khan with 29, and for Sandiacre Jake Needham took 3-25 and Sheldon Guerra 3-14. The innings closed in 45.2 overs.

Sandiacre cruised to victory in 25 overs, with Ian Hopkins making 47. Coming on as first change Mark Woodward made a quick impact, capturing all four wickets to fall for 24 runs.

This win sets up an exciting final week-end, with so few points between the three contenders for the title, and Sandiacre and Ockbrook both having to play Dunstall.
