For the second game in a row, Leeds looked to run out of ideas far too quickly, and never really offered any kind of attacking threat. Although only loosing by one goal, boss Kevin Blackwell must be concerned at the lack of chances and creativity. Wolves deserved their win, but if we’d have got about them, could have taken the three points back to Elland Road. Kilgallon had an effort well saved, but that was really it. Wolves hit the bar when Huddlestone hit a screamer, and won the game when Ganea forced home. The late dismissal of Simon Walton didn’t help Leeds’ cause, and we never really looked like scoring if the truth be known.
So where now for Leeds? After a good run of results, if not performances, we’re at a critical point. Blackwell must dip into the transfer market if we are to sustain any kind of challenge. Most importantly are a creative midfielder and a right winger, whilst another centre back must be looked at.
