Sainsbury makes formal bid for Leeds

Sebastian Sainsbury has today made a formal offer to buy Leeds United. After his last bid, backed by American group Nava failed, it looked like the deal was off, buit as anticipated, he has come back in with a new offer. The deal would incluse buying back Elland Road and training ground Thjorpe Arch, as well as providing funds for team strengthening. Sainsbury is thought to have new backers, possibly from Europe. It is belived that rival bidder Norman Stubbs could stand aside to let the new deal go through, as it would benefit the club, and if concluded, Leeds fan Stubbs may work with the new owners. The agreement, which ?Sainsbury says will include proof of funding imminently, is in the hands of the Leeds lawyers. Is the rollercoaster ride finally coming to an end? Watch this space....
