Leeds somehow escaped this game with as lucky a three points as you will see all season. To be fair, we were 2nd best in all departments, and even our two goals had a touch of luck about them Mcphail opened the scoring in the first half, when his inswinging free kick went straight in. The visitors had been the best team until this point, and continued to attack. Moments before half time, Anelka drove home, and it was all square at the break. Man City came out firing for the second half, and Leeds struggled to get out of their half. With an hour gone, we had hit one shot at goal all night, and that was the goal, which wasn’t technically a shot! City missed chance after chance, with Robinson producing a couple of fine saves, but it was Leeds that got the winner with a dubious penalty. Smith fed off Viduka’s ball, and was bundled over. A penalty and red card followed, and Viduka had a great chance. The Aussie strolled up to the ball and fired un unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner. Despite the City being down to 10 men, they continued to press, but we held firm. The work from Leeds was impressive, but we looked too nervous on the ball. Good performances, in my opinion from Domi who looks better every game, Mcphail who used the ball well, and the two centre backs who were strong. On the downside was Kelly who got caught underneath the ball too often, and Johnson who needs to learn to play the easy ball – he gave it away far too easily trying a clever or 40 yard pass.
