Leeds saw another 3 points drain away, as they lost at Southampton. With Wolves’ win against Man Utd, we now find ourselves rooted to the bottom of the Premiership. It was a poor first half from Leeds, with the Saints always looking the likeliest to score. It was however, after Leeds’ best chance that the home side took the lead. Milner did well down the left and crossed. The ball fell to Pennant who only had Niemi to beat, but the goalkeeper produced a fine sprawling save to deny the on loan winger. Within a minute, we were a goal down. Ormerod twisted Kilgallon, and fired home. Six minutes later, and it was 2 – Camara made a mess of Kelly’s pass, and Phillips pounced to double the lead. At half time, Leeds were in big trouble. To be fair, we came out after the break and made a game of it. The desire was there, but with so many important players out, there was a bit of quality missing. With a round 10 to go, we did get back into the game when Kilgallon headed home Harte’s cross. It was game on now, and a scramble in the box led to the ball bouncing off the post before Niemi hacked away. Leeds though couldn’t find a way through, and had to return back to Yorkshire looking up at the rest of the Premiership…
