Gary McAllister rebuilt our team last summer. He had the chance to bring some much needed height in to our side, but chose not too - and he didn't bother with pace either. And because of this, we're 99.9% certain to be staying in D1.... I've seen school sides with taller players, and I've seen OAP homes with faster residents. Darren Huckerby showed our defence up for the statues they are - absolutely powerless to stop anybody that can do 100 meteres in a day or less....

According to one well respected website, the height of our midfield and attacking players (Plus substitutes) against Norwich was:

Pead - 5.09
Gudjonsson - 5.08
Deloumeaux - 5.09
Doyle - 5.10
Joachim - 5.06
Suffo - 6.00
McSheffrey - 5.08
Barrett - 5.10

Not being the tallest bloke in the universe, and having stood next to each and every one of these players, I say these heights are rubbish! Not even close....

Pead, 5.09? Maybe if he's wearing high heels! Gudjonsson, 5.08? Possibly, if he's standing on tip-toes! And Doyle at 5.10? Are they drawing these numbers out of a hat? He might be this tall if he's standing on a box! And Barrett, 5.10? Maybe, with a John Shaft perm....

Most of these players are around 5'6" or 5' 7". And, if Suffo is 6 foot tall, then I can only presume he is carrying the weight of CCFC's failure on his shoulders - he looks about 5'9". Added to that, he seems extremely reluctant to head the ball anyway....

Reports say that yet another CCFC manager is planning yet another summer clear-out - please buy "high"!! When was the last time a "team full of midgets" won anything....?
