Top Of The League!

Goals from Fleck, Armstrong (Obviously), and O'Brien kept Coventry City at the top of the League One pile, and saw the side make their best start since 1992.

The home side enjoyed almost two-thirds possession (According to the BBC Sport website), and managed a massive twenty-seven shots during the 90+ minutes - some previous Coventry City sides have managed less than that in ten games!

Armstrong was kept fairly subdued in comparison with the first two league games (Due to Crewe's game-plan), but showed his quality by finishing when the opportunity arose.

Stokes and Maddison both missed a hat-trick of chances, with Stokes suddenly becoming an attacking full-back in the Bobby McDonald mould (If you don't get that reference, ask your parents), and Maddison just plain unlucky.

Once again the entire side deserved the plaudits, though the ridiculous energy levels of Fleck and O'Brien made them the stand-out performers on the night.

If there has to be a down side, it would be the two soft goals conceded, but, once O'Brien had smashed the winner, such trivial details could be forgotten (As long as they are ironed out on the training ground before Saturday!).
