According to (Plenty of ) rumours, the reason for Coventry City's dismal start to the season is the cut in players bonuses. While some might think this untrue, displays so far would back this up as a reason.... 

OK, this isn't rocket science, as it's known already by a fair few, but this seems the most likely explanation to the Jekyll And Hyde performances of the season so far....

According to those that are party to such information, the players are 'allegedly' intending to use the Arsenal-Coventry game as a  shop window to escape the club, rather than using a dozen division three  fixtures to do exactly the same.

Most of the current squad are better than this division, and, presuming  they genuinely have thrown their dummies from the pram because the club's owners  refuse to reward failing as well as winning, could reward supporters loyalty by  playing their way to a better club, but choose not to.

Rumours suggest the top rate of pay for the better players in the current  squad is a maximum £3,500 a week wage (With possibly one or two exceptions - i.e. those that were on long-term contracts from our dismal stint in the  Championship) - not too bad for the third tier of English football.

While some might claim this to be untrue, it seems far to much of a  coincidence that the cuts to bonuses was announced around the time of dismal surrender to Wrexham, and that the players have shown they are better than anything they've played so far in D3, but only manage 45 minutes per match at  most.

With season ticket buyers dropping by a third, those that have stayed with  the club deserve far better than such a pathetic attitude, especially as the rewards for success would see a fair few of the stayaways return, and possibly more money in the club's pot to pay a successful squad.
