Coventry City got their pre-season off to a flyer by smashing Hinckley United 8-0 - and it could have been more.
Roy O'Donovan showed nothing much has changed after once again failing to score when one-on-one with the keeper, McSheffrey had a goal ruled out for offside, while O'Donovan also hit the bar - all this came in the first half, as well as the three goals that were scored!
Coventry City went on to score a further five goals in the second half, and, while some might question the quality of the oppoosition, more experienced Coventry sides have faired far worse during pre-season matches!
New signing Elliott, on as a half-time substitute (Please, not another player merely bought just to occupy the treatment table!) - along with another ten players - picked up an injury, and was replaced with just over 70 minutes gone.
Keogh didn't travel with the team (And was according to rumours, off talking to his next club), while Cody McDonald, seemingly leaving Coventry City since the day he actually signed for the club, was also absent.
Goals: Gary McSheffrey (3); Lewis Garner (31); Roy O'Donovan (35); Will Roberts 57, 63; Jordan Willis 65; Arron Phillips 81; Shaun Jeffers 85.
TEAM (First-half): Dunn, Clarke, Hussey, Malaga, Edjenguele, Daniels, Henderson, Baker, McSheffrey, O'Donovan, Garner.
TEAM (Second-half): Burge, Wood, Phillips, Pegg, Kilbane, Willis, Thomas, Elliott (Garner 72), Fleck, Jeffers, Roberts.
