Coventry City's chances of winning the Championship ended on Saturday thanks to their defeat away to Leicester, and Southampton's victory over Leeds United....

The first four minutes of the first half belonged to Coventry City, before they disappeared off into the sunset, allowing Leicester to take control. The home side were awarded a penalty in the sixth minute, which Murphy saved, before Nugent opened the scoring in the eleventh minute.

Only Leicester looked like adding to the goal tally for the rest of the first half.

Coventry City opted to join in for the first fifteen minutes of the second half, before Leicester walked up the other end of the pitch and doubled their lead. It's like Andy Thorn never went away....

Beckford scored a fairly easy goal on the hour to double the home sides lead, which might have been more under threat had Gary McSheffrey told Sammy 'Sideways' Clingan to urinate off when he pulled rank and opted to miss the game's second penalty.

The sort of thuggery often associated with Konchesky rightly saw him red carded for an assault on Nimely after 83 minutes, as a dozen lazy journalists wrote their '10-Man Leicester' headlines.
