Despite claiming to have had interest from a Premiership side, Aron Gunnarsson has opted to sign for Cardiff City.
Decent enough in his first season with Coventry City (He was voted 'Coventry City Supporter's Player of the Year' in his first year at the club), absolutely dire in his second, then mainly average at best for most of last season. Of the three out-of-contract players offered new contracts at the end of last season, Gunnarsson was the player supporters were least bothered about leaving....
A supposed long-throw expert (Though fifty yards up, and only three yards onto the pitch, is of little use to anybody), with a habit of falling over if anybody farts in his general direction, Gunnarsson looked a decent prospect, but never really reached a level he looked capable of. Dumped most English names from his FaceBook page the day I criticised him in the Coventry Telegraph - coincidence I'm sure.
