Westwood Has Left The Building....

Kieran Westwood has finally left Coventry City, signing for Sunderland - the former comment coming as a shock to just about nobody, and the second part a decent choice on his part, more than likely starting as No. 2 to a crock.

Westwood was signed for Coventry City from Carlisle by Chris Coleman, for a fee believed to be around £700,000 (On a three year deal). He made 138 appearances during his time at the Ricoh. Westwood was named in the 'PFA Championship Team Of The Year' in his debut season at the club (According to 'Ask Jeeves'). He was also named 'Player Of The Season' at the end of 2009/10. 

Upon signing for Coventry City, Westwood was quoted as saying: "I was always going to come [to Coventry City]. It's a massive club and the gaffer is Chris Coleman so I was never not going to sign .... I can't wait to get started". Westwood also claimed he would play in the Premiership with Coventry City. Unless he plans to come back when we gain promotion, he got that one slightly wrong.... 

Previously he had made 153 appearances for Carlisle (Having originally been released by Manchester City). In three seasons at Carlisle, he won two promotions, a league title, made the play-offs, and played in a cup final at the Millennium Stadium. He was also Carlisle's Player Of The Season the season before he left the Cumbrian side, and was also named in 'PFA League One Team Of The Year' the same season.
