QPR 2 Coventry 1 - Part 1

The paupers of Coventry City suffered defeat at the hands of mega-rich QPR last Sunday, and at least one completely garbage match report was spawned - though you'll have to find it yourself, as I won't be sharing the link.

Far to many Coventry City players were missing for this fixture (On the pitch, but 'missing'), and, had they decided to join in, this would have been QPR's fifth match without a win. The form of champions, obviously. 

For all QPR's possession during said fixture, complete with totally embarrassing 'tongue right down the back of the trousers' commentary from at least one live TV 'expert', it was actually Coventry City that managed to put the ball in the general area of the goal during the first half. In fact, had Freddie Eastwood not fluffed a decent chance (And Marlon King not picked the keeper out on two occasions), this report could be commenting on six visits in a row to Loftus Road without defeat. 

During the first half, the world's greatest player, Taarabt, did manage to spoon one attempted shot on goal out for a Coventry City throw-in, while '50p Head' Heidar Helguson somehow managed, from a couple of yards out, to head a quality cross so hard into the ground that his effort actually went over the bar - Helguson also had a couple of shameful dives ignored. Premiership class, obviously. 

The only goal during the first fourty-five minutes was scored by Marlon King (Who suffered more highly unoriginal abuse - change your first name to 'Boooo', Marlon, as this will confuse the idiots, who, with a bit of luck, will shut the **** up), with QPR's equaliser scored so late into time added on - despite a half no more injury strewn than any other fixture where a maximum of two minutes is added - that it would be wrong to class it as the 'first half'. Pre-second half would be more apt. 

The afore-mentioned 'TV expert' probably needed a change of underwear following the supposed 'wonder striker', though the reailty was 'the world's greatest player' was gifted the goal thanks to garbage defending from Keogh and McSheffrey (Who had swapped flanks with Baker, else the goal could probably have been avoided), and Westwood seemingly sitting on the floor as the ball sailed over his head. 

Westwood was forced to make two quality stops (One in each half), while his right-hand post also denied QPR in the second half, but he was no more over-worked than he has been in most fixtures this season. Like a lot of sides, for all their possession, QPR did not create enough clear-cut chance (Which is about as close to being Arsenal as they are ever likely to get). 

Jutkiewicz and McSheffrey, both had excellent chances to score for Coventry City in the second half (Despite us being penned back inside our own six yard box for the entire match, including pre-match warm-up), but fluffed their chances. Again. 

Aside from missed chances, the outcome of this fixture could also have been changed had the referee 'grown a pair', and booked Derry on more than the one occasion he actually bothered too (I am not the only Coventry City supporter to spot the similarity between Derry's two-footed challenge, and the tackles that saw both Gunnarsson and King sent off previously). 

The winning goal was, admittedly, a touch of Premiership class, with Routledge superbly taking down Taarabt's pass, and firing past Westwood in the Coventry goal. Maybe if Routledge had shown such ability at Aston Villa and Newcastle (Not to mention Tottenham and Fulham!), he might still be in said division? 

TEAM: Westwood, Keogh, O'Halloran, Cranie, Wood, Baker, Doyle (Clingan 66), Gunnarsson, McSheffrey (Platt 78), King, Eastwood (Jutkiewicz 46). SNU: Ireland, Cameron, Bell, Clarke.

Hi i'm a qpr supporter

and i'm sorry marlon king hit a woman and he is still aloud to play profesional football its a bit of a joke tbh. Also this mathch report is utter@#$%&coventry aren't as bad as some people are saying but they are very ordinary compared to qpr. That was one of the worst qpr performances this season and yet we still beat you easily.
As for your comments on taarabt, thats utter@#$%&as well. He is quite possibly the best player in the league. So @#$%& off :L

Each to their own opinion. This was half a reply to some cr*p written on a QPR site (The other half will follow soon). Amongst said garbage ramblings were: accusations of playing hoof-ball (For 80 minutes we didn't on Sunday, then reverted to type when going behind). We abandoned that a few weeks back when we ditched a poor winger, and brought in somebody who knows what to do with the ball (Though it did take interest from a Premiership club for us to realise this). We were accused of being dirty. We barely (Sadly) made a challenge against you on Sunday. Derry, on the other hand .... For the record, we were very poor on Sunday, far worse than we've been recently (Yep, we're on a poor run of results, but have at last decided to play decent football, and we're not getting the results we deserve - though that's what happens when you don't take your chances). Regarding Marlon King, he's served his sentence, for a crime he still claims he didn't commit (Hence trying taking the case back to court once he was released), but this still isn't enough? I'm fairly sure QPR players throughout the years haven't exactly been blameless either - and that's only from the stories you hear about (I'm sure you must hear other stories that don't quite make the papers about your own players?!). As for Taarabt, he might be a decent player, but he's not yet the genius some would have him down as. He's only making mugs out of Championship defenders for now, isn't he?! See you in a year to continue this conversation, if you're in the Premiership, and if he's still with you....

Well obviously marlon king would deny doing it who wouldn't
also i did think derry's tackle was a bit strong but your players pathetic rolling around on the floor was just uncalled for.
Plus on the report it says there was too much stoppage time, well if your keeper hadn't been time wasting from the first minute then maybe taarabt's goal would have never been and you had won the game... but thats karma tongue sticking out smiley

Despite the fact MK is on a lot of money, I doubt he would bother wasting too much fighting a case he knew he would lose, would he? He did his time, so there was nothing to be gained there, and he knows football fans wouldn't stop singing about him if he won his case either - so there must have been a reason for doing so. As for time-wasting, I've seen far more time-wasting (Usually Paddy Kenny, when he played for SU), and I've seen less given when a breakage has occurred too! For the record, did you see how long it took Routledge to leave the pitch when he was subbed? No? I didn't think so. Karma doesn't exist. For Part 2, I'm just reading up on your chairman - nice fella, isn't he?

I don't think you did beat us easily - it took you until ten minutes from time to get the winner and we missed two very easy chances and created numerous other half chances. Yes Westwood had to make two very good stops and you hit the woodwork but overall it was largely even apart from your better attacking wide players which made the difference. We're a very ordinary team, I'll admit that, but apart from one or two decent players (one of whom is one loan) so are you IMO.

And Taarabt has a lot of skill, but he's by no means the best player in the division. Put someone on him tight, put a couple of strong challenges in early and he disappears - that's why he's failed to make an impact in the Prem and why Spurs let him go. Why on earth Aidy didn't do this in the two games is beyond me. Plus he's got one hell of an attitude - the second a bigger club comes in he'll be spouting off in the media and going in a sulk.

I don't like King playing for us either, not necessarily for the one offence (although that was despicable) but the fact he's got a long list of offences and hasn't seemed particularly bothered about being rehabilitated. Trying to claim it wasn't him despite very strong evidence suggests he still hasn't grasped responsibility and accountability. He seems to be keeping his nose clean this far,and unless he does cross the line again he's paid his due to society.

As for our players rolling around, Derry made decent challenges then brought his trailing leg round to deliberately take the players from behind as well - that can cause serious achilles injuries and is very painful. Both the tackles by Derry were worthy of a yellow, and King and Gunnarsson have been given straight reds for similar tackles this season. And you should have seen the rolling around they got - we nearly had to open the gates to let one player out he rolled that far. Then once the card was given straight back up.

Derry also elbowed Doyle in the head, probably not deliberately, but again dangerous. The guy should have been off the pitch before half time. yet we've been accused of being strong arm! If we had been Taarabt and Routledge would've been crying not picking up plaudits.

And as for time wasting - how does it take a quick winger over a minute to walk to the sideline?
