I'm not going to state we've 'turned a corner', but getting results against sides where some (Including me) would write off any chance of taking points before a ball has been kicked would suggest this season might just turn out to be different. Here's hoping....

I've got carried away before though, so I'll wait until we've played fourty-five Championship games before I properly make such a bold statement!

Gary Johnson once stated that he 'expected to win against Coventry City', and I'm sure after our recent terrible sequence of results at Portman Road, Ipswich supporters were thinking much the same before last weekends match. With that in mind, and despite Bristol City's lowly position in the table too, those were two quality results. 

And, had Jutkiewicz's 'goal' stood against Ipswich at the weekend (And this not changed the entire course of the match), we would have found ourselves in the play-off places! Best not to peak to soon, I guess. 

While obviously hoping Coventry City are in the Premiership next season, I would like to see Ipswich relegated for their shameful over-charging for entry to Portman Road! Those Coventry City fans that did travel backed the team superbly, and deserved the victory.

With our recent record against Barnsley reading: won eight and drawn two of our last ten Championship matches against them, let's hope the ending of poor results against 'bogey teams' doesn't extend to this weekend's visitors! 

Cardiff spoiled our chances of going into Saturday's fixture in a play-off place, but the reality is, Whittingham, Chopra, Bellamy, and Bothroyd, are a cut above our attacking options, and a narrow defeat was not totally unexpected. It was undeserved though. 

To a fair few, Bellamy failing to score seemed to be cause for some celebrating, but I would rather he scored six and we won than he stayed off the score-sheet and we lost. He did receive the expected abuse when he was subbed, but maybe if he has stayed on, we wouldn't have lost? 

After the lengthy waits to bring in the touch(es) of class supposed to assist us in our bid to finish in the top half of the table, it's disappointing to see injuries to Marlon King and Danny Ward deprive us of their services, especially as King needs to start justifying being brought in - despite a lot of opposition - because of his large salary.
