Comments and quotes following Coventry City's superb victory over local rivals Birmingham City.

In trying to recover, [Birmingham] didn’t muster much and always found it difficult to counteract a highly motivated opponent who worked hard, out-hustled them and never allowed them to gain a stranglehold and do what they wanted - Birmingham Mail.

Maik Taylor kept Blues in with a chance as Coventry, knowing Blues had to commit, and were unsteady defensively, had the clearer openings - Birmingham Mail.

It was a thoroughly deserved win for the hosts, who are now unbeaten in four matches in all competitions and look to be on track to achieve Chris Coleman's target of a top-half finish in the league this season - TeamTalk.

But to be fair to the [Birmingham] strikers they were up against two centre-backs at the top of their game right now. Commanding and composed, Dann continued to look a class act while Ben Turner is showing no signs whatsoever of giving up his shirt amid the fierce competition for places at the back - Coventry Telegraph.

There was a lot of enthusiasm in our performance and, to a man, I thought we were magnificent - Chris Coleman.

I don't know where the five minutes of injury time came from again. I must have missed another streaker - Chris Coleman.

The cross fell nicely for me and it's probably the easiest goal I've ever scored - Scott Dann.

The start cost us the game, not the referee or the linesman. In the first minute, you want an inspirational tackle or header to get everybody going but that never happened - Alex McLeish.

Coventry didn't trouble us all that much in terms of clear-cut chances folowing the goal - Alex McLeish.

v

I thought we deserved it. We created a lot of chances and could have won by more - Chris Coleman.
