The signing of Nick Wright was viewed as something of a coup for the Imps after his prolific spells at Tamworth and Kidderminster Harriers. The Imps beat teams at the top of the Conference to his signature.

Signed From : Free Transfer

Birmingham born Wright started his career at his home town club but failed to break into the then Premier League side's first team. During his time there he had loan spells at Tamworth, Bristol City and Northamton, all of which failed to yield a goal.

After being released from Birmingham he made a brief move to Halesowen and then Tamworth, for whom he enjoyed an impressive three year period, with a goalscoring record of better than a goal every three games, scoring 27 in 79. Despite this, he was placed on the transfer list and joined Kidderminster Harriers.

Although his record wasn't quite as impressive at Kidderminster, he still managed 23 goals in a 2 year period and that convinced big spending Mansfield to take him to Field Mill. Appearances were limited at Field Mill and he only played 17 times at Mansfield, scoring once. He was released at the end of his contract.

Despite a plethora of interest from numerous clubs, Wright agreed to join the Imps on a one year deal that will run until 2014.
