Holdsworth : Some of the players are on their last chance

David Holdsworth has issued an early threat in his manager as Lincoln manager, stating that Saturday's game against Barrow will be the last chance that some of the current squad will have, and backed up his threat by bringing in Paul Farman from Gateshead and Conal Platt from Cambridge.
"I did say I'd give people a chance," Holdsworth told BBC Lincolnshire. "But, on Saturday, for some of them it may be their last chance. I like nice players and silky football but we're in a dogfight. If they're not up to it, there are plenty who are."
That came just two days after City were dumped out of the FA Cup by Blue Square Premier newboys Alfreton Town. There were few positives to take from the game and Holdsworth has threatened to make changes if he doesn't like what he sees.
Holdsworth has shown no fear in dropping first team players since he was arriving, dropping the inform Gavin McCallum for the FA Cup game at Alfreton before restoring him for the replay. Other members of the squad who are believed to be under pressure are Adam Watts and Josh O'Keefe, neither of which are in the fan's good books at the moment.
Also under threat will be all the strikers, with the exception of Sam Smith. Smith has been in good form recently, scoring four goals in the last three weeks to take his tally up to seven for the season, but no other recognised striker has scored since August 23rd.
"We need to ruffle a few feathers. Are we good enough at the moment? No. We have to change and we will do."
On Thursday the Imps secured two loan signings. Winger Conal Platt from Cambridge and Paul Farman from Gateshead, a goalkeeper who played against the Imps just over a month ago.
Both go straight into the side to play Barrow on Saturday and both are on loan until the New Year.
keith47424 - Hinckley Imp So is Anyon under threat? Did DH not like his attitude for getting sent off?
Holdsworth said he will be fined for putting him the position of having to putting a kid in goal.
Apparently at least two players on trial and couple more next week and we are having a behind closed door game next Tuesday to get some minutes into the players who've not been playing.
No days off now for them.
We are in a dogfight and we need to play like that.
No more being nice!!!!
According to the offfical Gateshead Site First team squad the goalkeeper we've signed on loan is Paul Farman not Jarman as stated at the top of the page sorry Nathan
And it looks as though Platt has just come back to training for the last couple of weeks as he got injured on Sept 10th and was out for 6 weeks injured with hip back problem
I hear that Ali Fusieni is the first to have been told to find the A1 and continue south.
If Josh O'Keefe and Watts follow, then I might be persuaded to use my season ticket again.
David Holdsworth used the word livid in his interview about the Anyon incident. If we had won on Tuesday night he might not have been quite so livid. However i do think that he is a man you dont cross twice.

If Anyon hadn't of gotten sent off on Saturday I dont think we would of been playing on Tuesday.
Think we would of gone through on the day if we had kept 11 on the pitch.
Fair play to Holdsworth at least he is seeing what the long suffering fans have been seeing for the last 3/4 years - Lack of Passion, Pride and determination he gets my vote just for banning twitter and headphones
