Gowling positive despite another defeat

Captain Josh Gowling has come out this afternoon with a strong positive message following on from Lincoln's fourth defeat from seven so far this season. Gowling has become well known amongst City fans for his use of the Twitter website and is popular amongst the fans because of his interactions with them.
Gowling initially joined the Imps back in October last year on loan from Gillingham. His inclusion coincided with improved results for the Imps before he returned. After being released from Gillingham at the end of the season, he joined Lincoln permanently after a trial at Crewe.
Since then Gowling has done the "Simon Yeo" role and communicates with fans on a regular basis through various means, mainly Twitter. This has lead him to be quite popular with the fans as they know at least one player listens to them.
Following on from last night's defeat Braintree, Gowling has been in his usual upbeat and definant mood.
"None of us deserve to wear the shirt after last night's game. After speaking to you guys after the game, your anger and frustration will inspire. We will do better and give you guys something to cheer about. I know talk is cheap and until it improves you will be skeptical of my words."
The pressure has also really piled on Tilson so far and there were small sections of the crowd at Braintree calling for his head, but Gowling stuck by his manager.
"We have got sucked into the way other teams play and we are a footballing team so until we stick to our game plan we won't win games," he continued. "That doesn't come from the management, that comes from us. The manager want us to go out there and express ourselves and we have let him and down and for that reason you are calling for his head. He is a good guy and a good manager. All the boys love him and all of us want to be here and came here for him. And it hurts us all when you talk about him wanting to leave. Sacking him is not the solution, us getting together on the pitch and playing better is!"
Lincoln's next opponents are Kettering Town, a team who sit 22nd in the table, one place below the Imps and although it's early in the season, this is already looking like a six pointer.

After reading his thoughts, following the Braintree scandal, I have decided to believe in him and what he says because he is our captain.
-Even though I am not Tilsons biggest fan and to be honest, I was actually having my doubts as far back as April about him, I will try to have a change of heart and stay optimistic. He does sign good players in my opinion.
But at the end of the day, I still think he is a sackable manager and I wouldn't be disappointed if he got sacked however, for now I will wait to see what Kettering holds.

I'd respect him more if he concentrated more on closing down opposition players on the edge of the box, than 'tweeting' or apologising to fans.
I've seen him 4 times and he's looked shaky, has poor distribution and loses his man in the box - not sure he is Captain material at all to be honest!
He may have a nice hair-do, but George Berry Mk2 he definitely isn't!

Aryan - agree with you, he has not inspired much confidence with his performances and F1 you say that you say Tilson signs good players....

I cannot remember if he signed Gavin Hoyte who was good but obviously injury ruined that one but fair play if he did sign him, he looked OK.
So I cannot see where he deserves credit for his signings?
