Lincoln City lost 2-1 at home to Wrexham on Friday to make it six straight home defeats and that is a new club record. Tolley opened the scoring for the visitors before Smith scored City's first home goal since March 12th, but a goal just after half time secured the win for the visitors.

City had already equaled their record of five consecutive home defeats, equalising the record set in 1896/7 before being equaled in 1960/1 and 1998/9. The prospects didn't look good as the Imps were also going into the game on the back of thirteen games without victory.

The Imps kicked off the game and pressed early, although none of the attacked yielded a chance. Tolley was booked for a foul on Taylor before Power shot straight into Maxwell's hands. Fuseini cleared an Ashton free kick before Adam Watts gifted Jake Speight a glorious chance to open the goalscoring, fortunately the former Mansfield man hit it over.

Fuseini fouled Tolley on the edge of the box and it was the former Shrewsbury man that smashed it into the net to give Wrexham the lead.

It wasn't a fast first half with the next chance not coming until five mintues from half time when McCallum forced Maxwell into a save from time. Despite having plenty of the ball, City weren't really doing much with it the Imps did go in level after Smith pounced on a game of ping-pong in the box to score his second for the Imps and to score City's first home goal since March 12th.

Nutter wasted a free kick from 25 yards just after the break before McCallum had two shots blocked by Maxwell. City were the dominant team but were caught on the counter attack as Jay Harris ran past several non-tackling defenders, slotting past Anyon from the edge of the box.

Speight was booked for shoving Sinclair and he was quickly substituted for Adrian Cieslewicz. The substitute had the next change but his effort was saved by Anyon. Smith suddenly found himself in behind the defence but his slow speed meant that defence easily caught up.

Fuseini and Taylor were replaced by Perry and Barraclough, the latter of which having a goalbound effort cleared off of the line without seconds.

Neither side could force another goal and the Imps record breaking sixth straight defeat at home was confirmed.

Only 2 games to go to equal another record of consecutive games without a win - which stands at 19 from Aug-Dec 1978 .... I sincerely hopes Tilly beats that, he thoroughly deserves another entry into our history book!!!!

We haven't lost 17 competitive games in a row though Kev, it stands at 13....granted it's not much better.
