Frenchman joins Imps ranks

Former Southend midfielder Francis Laurent. The Frenchman played under Tilson at Southend before having to leave because of the financial problems at Roots Hall. He spent last season in France and playing for Northampton.

Laurent has become the second signing of the summer following the arrival of Jamie Taylor. The Frenchman, who apparantly plays in a similar way to former Imp Dany N'Guessan, started his career as Sochaux before spells with Entracht and FSV Mainz.

He joined Southend in 2008 and spent two seasons at Roots Hall, scoring 10 goals from 62 starts.

Reminds me of Danny N'Guessan, Laurent will have his good days and his bad, but he he has loads of talent.
